Hussain Ihfal Ahmed or “Iphpha” is a leading Maldivian artist, largely recognised for his illustrious contribution to the field of art for over twenty years. Having grown up in the tropical islands of the Maldives, he derives inspiration from its rich culture and nature. Iphpha has held several solo exhibitions and live events throughout his career and participated in international art fairs and exhibitions. His mastery over creative techniques and various mediums is exemplary. Along with oil and watercolor, his favorite medium of paint is coffee. His innovative and unique style of ‘coffee painting’ is well-received and praised by both the Maldivian artist community and the general public. He is reputed for his latest and well acclaimed impressionism style of art. In 2018, Iphpha became the first Asian artist to host an exhibition underwater.
