Aminath Althaf Shaheen is a 16 year old artist who is currently studying in Iskandhar school. Althaf has been practicing art ever since she can remember. Through her art, she strives to create a difference. Her goal is not to just to create an experience for the viewer, but also to highlight and create awareness about global issues. She loves experimenting with new mediums and doesn’t stick to a particular style.
In the past years, crimes against women, religious hate crimes, the human population living in absolute poverty and racially motivated crimes have increased at an alarming rate with billions of people deprived from basic human rights. It is estimated that approximately 1.5 billion women worldwide have experienced either physical or sexual violence in some point of their lives.. China holds more than one million Uighur muslims in concentration camps where they are subjected to brutal torture. Hundreds of thousand muslims from Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon and many countries are suffering from severe humanitarian crises. Black people are subjected to economic inequalities, absence of health care, biased education and judicial system and more. As of today, two thirds of the world population live on less than 10 $-int per day and every 10th person lives in absolute poverty.We’ve spent almost 6 million on this planet. It is high time to make the world better for ALL, don’t you think?
